Kamayan Dinner Fundraiser

In honor of Filipino American History Month, the Asian American Journalist Association Michigan chapter will be hosting a kamayan-style dinner fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 7 at PizzaPlex, a southwest Detroit community pizzeria that is generously hosting us for this event!

The feast, which is eaten right off the table with your hands family-style, will have a preset menu (including chicken, pork, and fish.) Tickets are $50 a person for the traditional dinner hosted by Sarap: A Filipino pop-up and come an hour early and join us for a karaoke for just $10 more.

If you've never eaten or heard of kamayan dinner, check out this quick video

Kamayan dinners are awesome. Why not enjoy one while supporting diversity in the newsroom?
