i. Ron Recinto and Sarah closed the bank account since there was no way for us to take in payments from donations directly.
Picking new credit union
i. Ron, Sarah and Bill will need to find a new credit union and take our deposit there.
ii. We need multiple people on that account in the event that someone is not available or quits/ moves.
Tax ID number / Updating documents for tax deductible donations
i. National chapter is trying to figure out issues
ii. We need to wait on them for what next steps need to be taken for registering with LARA in Michigan or not.

i. We are finalizing invites

iii. Letting security know Friday night who is coming. Sarah and Carmichael setting up room Friday night with Roop.
iv. On Saturday morning, have someone be point person for carpool in the hospital lot. At least two additional people driving folks back and forth.
v. Food: From LaMar, $600 w/ tip; breakfast: coffee +breakfast bars + water ($200 with $50 donated from PRSA and NABJ); cutlery, pens, supplies and misc ($200 spent). All receipts will be sent to Bill for approval.

vi. Encourage carpooling – get a team of volunteers to help shuttle people

a. Review of meet and greet event at Crain’s
i. We need to charge for any future events we host.
ii. Former board members recommended a media access day. Sarah and Lauren met with SPJ about options to partner. Want to bring in NABJ and PRA. Aiming for May and talking with Bedrock for a space and bring in Breadless for the food vendor. $20 or $35 per person. Half day event on Saturday or Sunday.
1. M asked about how we could tie into Lansing. S – this is for introduction to bring in people who are normally spokespeople. Could incorporate a livestream.
IV. NEW BUSINESS:
a. Future events
i. Trivia night – Carmichael has connections with Atwater. We could host it there.
ii. Roop proposes a free credit union space in Rochester or the Oak Room at Channel 2. He is going to ask GM about availability of space.
iii. What can we do in Lansing to encourage participation from local journalists there.
iv. What can we do to meet students and get them involved in AAJA.
Megan is going to an event with local radio station for student outreach. Event is in April.
