Interns, apply for our 2019 summer scholarship!

Through our September trivia fundraiser at Great Lakes Coffee and our October kamayan dinner fundraiser at PizzaPlex, we are able to offer over $900 in scholarships to college students who also serve as unpaid interns at Metro Detroit newsrooms. This spring, we launched seasonal scholarships to help our student members. Please keep applying as we will have more each semester.

Summer scholarship - The American Civil Rights League Scholarship - $100 will be given to a student currently working at an unpaid internship.

Applicants should submit a (500 word limit) response on why they need the scholarship, where they hope to land in journalism after college. Please include AAJA membership ID number (found on national log in page) college standing, current internship and expected graduation year. Submit to aajamichigan@gmail.com no later than May 11, 2019.

Upcoming: Go! Sy Thai : One student will receive $100

AAJA Michigan Chapter : Two students will be granted $200
